Bovine Embryo Technician

## Overview

Our export-certified bovine theriogenology facility is located North of Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. We offer in-clinic or on-farm bovine embryo collection, freezing and transplants, production of embryos for sale and/or export purposes, in-vivo (flushing), IVF (in-vitro fertilization, international sales and shipping, donor care, recipient programs, ultrasonography, semen/breeding soundness evaluation collection/freezing, and cryopreservation and embryo storage.

## Duties

This position requires some overnight travelling throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan (mostly between March and June) with the veterinarian. Ability to travel abroad would also be an asset as we occasionally do Embryo Transfer work in other countries, all travel expenses paid.

A Veterinarian Technology degree is not required as we are prepared to train the right person, however experience with cattle is essential. This position assists the veterinarian with all in-clinic and on-farm procedures. Invoicing and paperwork is also an integral part of the job and will need to be done while on the road so attention to detail and organization is necessary.

The position will require lab work with semen, oocyte and embryo collection and freezing. Annual embryo inventory and invoicing, monitoring and ordering all supplies and drugs for procedures; preparing and shipping blood, semen and oocytes to the lab; cattle registration and DNA testing; monitoring nitrogen storage tanks.
