What is the BTP?
The Broadcast Training Programme (BTP) offers broadcast training to local students in the host country, as well as the possibility to work in paid positions during the Games
The Broadcast Training Programme was created in 1984 for the Los Angeles Games out of the desire to leave a human legacy to each host country of the Games. The programme allows a young generation of students to learn from top-of-the-industry professionals, and gain work experience which will facilitate their entry into the market and access to audio-visual careers.
The BTP has started 40 years now, and its success has only grown over time. From its beginning, more than 13,000 students around the globe have joined this programme, initiating their career in a privileged way, as part of the biggest sports event in the planet.
In the Milano Cortina edition of the BTP, OBS intends to train around 1,800 local students in 8 different operational areas. This will happen in October 2023. Approximately 1400 of these students who perform well during training will be invited to work alongside our teams during the Olympic Games in paid professional positions.
For every edition of the BTP, OBS hires a BTP Liaison. This is a local person who assists the OBS HR department and the BTP Manager with the planning and execution of the programme in the host country.
