Join the Waimakariri District Council’s Building Unit Commercial Processing Team and help deliver practical, win-win solutions while ensuring quality and compliance across residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process a variety of consents both Commercial and Residential, ensuring they meet the requirements of the New Zealand Building Code and associated legislation.
  • Prepare schedules of specified systems and compliance schedules.
  • Work within our BCA quality assurance system, ensuring adherence to accreditation standards.
  • Work closely with colleagues and customers to provide practical, solutions-focused guidance.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Regulation 18 qualification (mandatory)
  • Established Competency under the National Competency Assessment framework of minimum Commercial 1 and preferably 2, with 3 – 5 years' experience in a commercial consenting role.
  • Experienced in compiling Compliance Schedules.
  • Strong understanding of building products, systems, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent written & verbal communication, time management, attention to detail, and computer proficiency
  • Ability to assess and process both residential and commercial consents with confidence

This is a full-time permanent role of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Salary range approximately $82,000 – 95,000 depending on experience.
