The Building Design & Engineering team is accountable for most efficient designs for South East Asia Region. We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our team to Lead the region and set up local standards for Amazon Fulfilment network. The ideal candidate will possess a architecture background that enables him/her to undertake the challenges of designing and innovating to provide most effective solutions and a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically in aligning building design with the larger objectives of the business. You’ll be a part of a diverse team of architects, electrical engineers, Project Managers, MEP Engineers, real estate transaction managers. You will interact with reliability and maintenance engineers (RME), security experts, operations managers, safety and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across Amazon Fulfilment Network to help us deliver the highest standards while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. As the Subject Matter Expert, you will design and uphold the Building Design standards following a process-oriented approach. The role will entail working on warehouse and logistics designs in South-East Asia, right from site masterplanning to developing services and details of interiors. The position involves working with multiple internal and external stakeholders, developing consultants, vendors and contractors to scale up to standards defined. Along with technical expertise, excellent communication skills, ability to provide solutions navigating through a matrix organization and essential skills. The major tasks and responsibilities will involve (but not limited to) the following- 1. Understanding of regional requirements 2. Establishing strategy for the region 3. Partnering with the Real Estate team to deliver for the region 3. Developing pool of consultants and contractors 4. Working with internal and external teams to bring in the right design standards 5. Engaging with stakeholders across regions to drive cross-geography programs on updating and upholding building standards. 6. Working with Design Consultants and vendors to review and implement the right designs A day in the life This role will involve engagement with design engineers, Project Managers, Operations, Safety, Maintenance team internally, to deliver on strategic as well as tactical levels. About the team This role will be a part of Global Sustainable Design team which develops and upholds the strategy and standards for Amazon Fulfilment network, sustainability at the core of our operations. Our team is accountable for ensuring meeting the key business requirements, upholding safety in design and compliance. We continuously innovate to better ourselves, working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Hands-on experience in managing complex projects
  • Experience in managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes
  • Understanding of logistics and warehousing design and construction
  • Understanding of warehouse operational processes
