What You’ll Do

The Building Operator plays a key role in keeping our condominium communities running smoothly. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation, cleaning, maintenance, and safety of all common areas and building systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, proactive, and comfortable working independently while communicating effectively with the Property Manager and service contractors.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections and perform general maintenance, repairs, and minor cleaning to keep the property in top condition.
  • General grounds keeping, including snow removal, lawn care, and parking lot maintenance.
  • Conduct weekly, monthly, and annual routines to keep the community running smoothly.
  • Become the on-site expert for the building and provide recommendations for improvements, policies, and procedures to the Condo Manager.
  • Monitor and maintain building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety).
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized work and upkeep.
  • Lead beautification projects and assist with safety and compliance programs.
  • Manage inventory, tools, and building keys with attention to detail.
  • Deliver notices and support bylaw enforcement as directed by management.
  • Respond to emergencies and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Communicate regularly with the Condo Manager and residents to address issues promptly and professionally.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years’ experience in building operations, maintenance, or a related trade
  • Experience with high-rise building systems is an asset
  • Strong understanding of building systems and preventative maintenance
  • Tech-savvy or adaptable and eager to learn new tools and systems
  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Full-time availability with flexibility for emergencies
  • Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to perform physical tasks safely
  • Clear criminal record check required
