Salary: 45,000 per year

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, St. Vincent Villa is seeking a Building Supervisor to be responsible for the management of the building and its resources during an assigned shift and provides direct administrative supervision of assigned Behavioral Specialists. This position supports staff for call-outs, unit crises, security of the building and other staffing needs. The work schedule will require some flexibility- varies between Monday-Friday with some weekends between 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM.

St. Vincent Villa serves children ages 5-13 whose behavioral and emotional needs have not responded to community-based interventions and services. Intervening early can help increase the likelihood of successful therapy and behavioral modification.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows trauma informed care philosophy, and Children and Residential Experiences (CARE) model to influence and guide all interactions with youth, families, and colleagues and actively participates in the integration of these within the therapeutic Milieu.
  • Monitors the therapeutic and physical environment of the units during assigned building shifts to ensure a clean, safe, and organized milieu for the youth. Reinforces an environment of care which is traumainformed, developmentally appropriate, and therapeutically responsive to the needs of the youth.
  • Directs the response to any crisis situations consistent with the philosophy of the program.
  • Rounds to make assessments throughout the shift with respect to the clinical programming and the safety of the youth.
  • Monitors and coordinates scheduling of all the units, manages unplanned staff call-outs to ensure proper coverage ratios.
  • Coordinates staff debriefings and documentation of restraints.
  • Monitor all activities throughout the building in all depts.
  • Responsible for managing and directing work of others, (5-9) including recruiting new hires, onboarding new staff, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to work with minimal direction or supervision.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools and/or equipment used in routine maintenance. Ability to keep the property clean and orderly.
  • Ability to act with discretion and professionalism in all situations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, influence and engage staff and to delegate activities as appropriate.
  • Requires the ability to utilize computer systems and software necessary to perform position functions. Basic Windows PC, web browsing (i.e. Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.), and Microsoft Outlook skills required. Other Microsoft Office application knowledge, such as Word, Excel PowerPoint, Skype, and OneDrive desired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one area of the building to another.
  • Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds
  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Hearing and vision abilities within normal range (corrected) to drive safely and to observe and communicate with others.
  • Driving (Agency and/or personal vehicle) is required for this position. Driver must be at least 21 years of age, with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience, and a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence. There can be no state issued restrictions on the licenses that would impede driver’s ability to operate the vehicle as required by the Agency, and there must not be more than three (3) points on their driving record.
