About us

Waiheke Bus Company forms part of Fullers360 and operates a public transport network on behalf of Auckland Transport. There are four main routes, running from Matiatia ferry terminal to Oneroa, Blackpool, Surfdale, Palm Beach, Ostend, Rocky Bay, Onetangi and Kennedy Point.


We also operate school bus services to the main schools on the island. We provide a regular, punctual bus service including buses that meet every ferry departure and arrival to the island.


Waiheke Bus Company has a fleet of modern buses (including electric) ranging in size from 19 to over 70 seats, along with coach liners and three double deckers used primarily for the popular Explorer Hop on Hop off bus tour.


About the role


As a semirural Bus Driver you'll interact with friendly locals and happy holiday goers whilst enjoying the island lifestyle and stunning views that Waiheke Island has to offer. Every day will be an opportunity to deliver fantastic customer service and share a unique and safe experience with our passengers, driving urban services and some charters/transfers when available.

We are in an exciting phase of expanding our fleet of Electric Buses on Waiheke Island - now is the perfect time to join our team.

This is for a permanent - full time role with a guarantee of 40 hours per week, based on Waiheke Island.


About your skills and experience

  • A full clean class 2 drivers licence and a passenger endorsement is required
  • Clear communication and a patient approach is required
  • You will need to pass our pre-employment screening and background checks which include TDDA (drug screening), medical assessment and reference checks
  • Rostered role, which includes early starts, late finishes, and some weekends and public holidays.
  • This role is Waiheke based, therefore it is desired you will live in Auckland CBD or Waiheke Island (due to the commute)
