Overview
The Business / Applications Analyst is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing an assigned portion of the Dental Advocacy Group’s (DAG) application portfolio while serving as a key liaison between business units, technology teams, and external vendors. This role combines hands-on application analysis, project management and planning, and business analysis to ensure successful delivery of system enhancements, integrations, and process improvements across the assigned portfolio and enterprise. The Business / Applications Analyst partners closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, optimize workflows, ensure data integrity, and drive adoption of technology solutions that align with DAG’s objectives and contribute to its continued growth and success.
Duties
Application Support & Analysis
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME) - Serve as the SME for an assigned portfolio of enterprise applications.
- Support - provide day-to-day support, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution.
- Configuration - Maintain system configuration, user access, security roles, and application documentation.
- Analysis - Analyze system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend optimizations.
- Vendor Management - Manage relationships with third-party data vendors and service providers, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards.
- Data Quality – Support data quality, data validation, and integration processes across an assigned portfolio of application and connected enterprise applications.
Business Analysis
- Analysis - Work with DAG, Vendor and Client stakeholders to gather, document, and validate requirements for new features, enhancements, workflows, and reports.
- Workflow - Develop workflow diagrams, process maps, use cases, and functional specifications.
- GAP Analysis - Conduct gap analyses to identify opportunities for improving business processes and system functionality.
- Analytics - Provide assigned portfolio analytics expertise to define data needs, reporting requirements, and KPI definitions.
- Testing - Assist in internal and partner programming staff with user acceptance testing (UAT), test planning, test cases, and validation of enhancements.
- Translation - Translate business needs into technical requirements and communicate clearly with development teams, architects, and vendors.
Project Management
- Team Management - Manage small to medium-sized application projects from initiation through deployment.
- Project Management - Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource schedules.
- Risk Management - Facilitate project meetings, track milestones, manage risks, and report project status to leadership.
- Methodology - Ensure delivery of system updates, releases, and enhancements using Agile or Waterfall methodologies as appropriate.
- Coordination - Coordinate cross-functional work between technology teams, operations, finance, compliance, vendors, and external partners.
- Change Management - Maintain chang management procedures and ensure proper stakeholder communication.
User Enablement & Training
- Materials - Develop and deliver training materials, user guides, and knowledge base content.
- Training - Conduct group or one-on-one training sessions for end users and department leaders.
- Continuous Improvement - Promote system adoption and ensure users understand new features, workflows, and best practices.
- Support - provide day-to-day support, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution.

Experience
Education & Experience
- Dental Practice operations process knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field preferred.
- 3–5+ years of experience in an Applications Analyst, Business Analyst, or Systems Analyst role.
- Experience managing projects or leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience with SaaS business applications, CRM, ERP, workflow systems, reporting tools, or healthcare/dental systems is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of application administration, configuration, and workflows.
- Ability to read technical documentation and collaborate with developers and architects.
- Proficiency in requirements gathering, functional specifications, and process mapping.
- Knowledge of SQL, reporting tools, dashboards, or data analysis platforms helpful.
- Experience with project management tools (Smartsheet, Jira, Zoho Projects, Azure DevOps, etc.).

Pay: $85,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
