Position Overview

As a Business Development Executive, you will play a key role in growing Guaranteed Irish's member base by developing your own business pipeline. This role involves both new member recruitment and membership retention responsibilities for Cork and the Munster region. You will work closely with prospective and current members to ensure long-term engagement and satisfaction. You’ll report initially to the CEO based in Dublin, providing regular updates on your progress and meeting monthly targets.

New Business Development:

  • Leverage your network, prospecting techniques and resources to uncover new contacts and business opportunities within the region.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline to recruit new Guaranteed Irish members within your assigned region.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with prospective members to present the benefits of Guaranteed Irish membership.
  • Consistently close new membership deals each month and achieve agreed sales targets to support the organisation’s growth objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions and outcomes using HubSpot, ensuring all account information is up to date.
  • Identify and pursue new business partnerships with key stakeholders - fostering connections with well-networked industry contacts.
  • Attend networking events weekly that aligns with business strategy to connect with potential leads and expand industry contacts.

Membership Retention:

  • Manage a portfolio of member accounts, providing proactive account management and regular engagement to retain members and support them in maximising the benefits of their membership.
  • Develop and implement tailored strategies to enhance member satisfaction, strengthen relationships, and drive long-term membership retention.
  • Actively identify and connect with members showing low engagement to renew their participation and ensure they see value in their membership.
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions, activities, and outcomes in HubSpot, ensuring account information is always current and supports effective account management.

Reporting & Administration:

  • Prepare and present detailed monthly reports on membership growth, engagement metrics, and account status updates.
  • Utilise tools such as HubSpot and Asana to track progress and maintain accurate and timely documentation of all sales and account management activities.

Collaboration & Strategy:

  • Work closely with the Business Development and Membership team and Marketing team to align members recruitment efforts with the Guaranteed Irish brand and goals.
  • Contribute insights and ideas to enhance the Guaranteed Irish membership offering based on members’ feedback and market trends.
  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, and strategy sessions to support the continued growth of Guaranteed Irish.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Professional Experience: 3–5 years in business development, with a strong record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • B2B Expertise: Experience within a similar industry or audience is a plus.
  • Commercial Acumen and Strategic Sales Thinking: Deep understanding of sales principles and best practices, with an acute ability to develop and execute strategies to win new business and grow accounts.
  • Resilience and Drive: Demonstrated ability to manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, maintaining a positive, self-driven approach even during slower periods.
  • Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in CRM and support software, with experience using HubSpot, Asana, and MS Office Suite for presentations, reporting, and database management.
  • Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a well-established network and a talent for fostering productive relationships across industries.
  • Initiative and Self-Motivation: Strong capability to work independently, demonstrating a proactive, solution-focused mindset without reliance on close supervision.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey the Guaranteed Irish value proposition effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Adaptability: Quick thinker who can adapt to changing situations and manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.

Benefits

  • Salary: €35-45K pa with uncapped OTE reaching €45-55K after the first year.

  • Flexible Working Arrangement: Following a one-month onboarding period where the candidate is expected to be 1 day a week at our Dublin 2 office, this role will shift to a primarily home-based setup, with a preference for candidates located in Co. Cork/Munster. The Business Development Executive will be expected to travel to Dublin twice a month for in-person team collaboration and progress discussions.
