We're looking for an enthusiastic, relationship-driven Business Engagement Coordinator to join our team. If you enjoy meeting new people, building meaningful relationships, and helping businesses thrive, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Fredericton, NB.
Objective:
The primary objective of the Business Engagement Coordinator is to proactively build relationships with businesses throughout the Capital Region by serving as Ignite's first point of contact for existing businesses.
The Business Engagement Coordinator is also responsible for identifying opportunities, understanding business needs, promoting Ignite's programs and services, and connecting businesses to the appropriate resources, partners, or Business Development Officers. The role focuses on relationship development, business outreach, client engagement, and maintaining an active pipeline of businesses requiring support.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Business Engagement & Relationship Building
- Build and maintain relationships with businesses throughout the Capital Region.
- Conduct regular business visits and serve as a primary point of contact for the business community.
- Promote Ignite's services, programs, and initiatives while identifying opportunities to support business growth.
Business Support & Referral Coordination
- Meet with businesses to understand their needs and provide general guidance.
- Connect businesses with appropriate programs, partners, funding opportunities, or Business Development Officers for specialized support.
- Maintain ongoing communication to ensure businesses receive timely assistance.
CRM & Reporting
- Maintain accurate client records and activity within HubSpot CRM.
- Track business engagement activities, referrals, and outcomes.
- Support organizational reporting and performance measurement through accurate data collection.
Community & Organizational Support
- Represent Ignite at community events, networking opportunities, and stakeholder meetings.
- Foster partnerships that strengthen the regional business ecosystem.
- Support strategic initiatives and other organizational priorities as required.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Marketing, Economic Development, Commerce, Public Administration, Communications, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in relationship management, business development, customer success, account management, sales, recruitment, or economic development is considered an asset.
- Experience working in a collaborative, relationship-focused environment.
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trust and credibility.
- Strong communication, active listening, and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to identify business needs and connect clients with appropriate resources and expertise.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM systems, preferably HubSpot.
- Sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to represent Ignite throughout the community.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the Capital Region.
