Parks & Community Facilities (PCF) is dedicated to making great places Aucklander’s love by supporting several related services such as asset maintenance, management and renewals of Parks, Open Spaces, Buildings, Facilities, Conservation Areas and Urban Ngahere (forest). As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council parks and facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities and environment while also delivering strategically significant programmes.



Reporting to the Manager Continuous Improvement, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of initiatives to bring about the standardisation of operational activities across a mobile and dispersed workforce. The role will require you to be comfortable with the defining, prioritising, and delivery of improvement opportunities so we are looking for someone who can think commercially and communicate ideas clearly to influence and bring about change in business outcomes.



You’ll work collaboratively with key stakeholders (both internally and externally) to ensure key processes are mapped, operational risks and issues are managed, and staff have a comprehensive understanding of their responsibilities. Using your networking skills, you’ll also assist in the identification and development of a pipeline of process and system improvement activities.



Additional aspects of the role include supporting and coaching staff to be customer focused, ensuring success is measured and realised, internal and external business operations are integrated, and best practice is achieved consistently across PCF.

A business improvement professional, you’ll have excellent relationship management skills being able to facilitate the bringing together of diverse groups and drive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.



Due to the results focus, you’ll be required to have proven experience in the delivery of process/systems improvements that are customer focused.



Alongside a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent, gained experience delivering high performance outcomes, you’ll be able to point to 5+ years experience in delivering and embedding process and service improvements for commercial outcomes.



Being able to work with varied stakeholders and facilitate the delivery of measurable outcomes from a customer centric perspective is essential, and experience in delivering results and innovation in a high public profile environment would be advantageous.
