This position is hybrid and remote eligible up to 40% of the time. The office location for this position is at ESL Corporate Headquarters in Rochester, NY. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Must be able to meet current and future needs

Pay:

Starting pay $34.85/hour

Purpose of Position:

This position is accountable for preparing documentation and closing packages and monitoring criteria for approved loans. Provides support to Relationship Managers, as well as Frontline personnel. Direct responsibility for pre and post-closing requirements; adhering to all regulatory compliance standards. Contributes towards team sales and service goals.

Principle Accountabilities:

Directly responsible for preparing loan closing packages and post-closing files, and monitors criteria for approved loans.

  • Ensure pre and post-closing requirements are met, while adhering to all regulatory compliance standards.
  • Ordering and review of due diligence to ensure adherence to Credit Policy.
  • Process funding of new loans, loan payoffs, etc.
  • Maintain system used to monitor post-closing covenant tracking, pending, or exception items.
  • Prepare vault files and system of record for furthering on to core system booking.
  • Work in conjunction with Relationship Manager (RM), frontline personnel, and colleagues in other areas of the organization.

Maintenance of Commercial and Business Banking Loan Portfolio

  • Process declined and withdrawn loan applications.
  • Process Annual Reviews
  • Updating systems with appropriate changes to portfolio

Provides support to Relationship Managers (RMs), Frontline personnel and branches in their business banking loan efforts.

  • Continuously collaborates to resolve any loan related needs/questions.
  • Provide guidance on requirements for loan documentation.
  • Provide follow-up, as needed.

Responsible for continuously monitoring reporting to maintain Loan Portfolio

  • Manage expiring Insurance and Marketable Securities reports, and provide follow-up to appropriate parties.
  • Perform report reviews for Small Business Administration (SBA) loans and declined and/or withdrawn loans.
  • Review weekly Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) report to determine whether collateral lien position needs to be continued, terminated, etc.; as well as performing necessary steps to ensure adequate lien position.
  • Review daily paid off loan reports, to release collateral and close out files, when appropriate.

Continued learning & growth, as well as other duties and tasks as assigned

  • Stay informed on regulatory and Small Business Administration (SBA) updates, and best practices.
  • Actively engage in Team and Departmental Meetings, as well as development and training opportunities.
  • Works with Manager to improve operational efficiencies and updates workflows as requested
  • Identifies and recommends modifications to Loan Closing Checklists, and Operations Manual
  • Develops a deep understanding of ESL’s loan operating and supporting systems.
  • Support departmental and organizational goals through additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or 2 additional years of business lending experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a business lending environment
  • High level of understanding of UCC laws, as well as other legal components of loan documentation
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-directed and self-motivated with proven ability to work independently; must be able to carry out day to day tasks with minimal guidance
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Proven attention to detail, time management, and problem solving skills
