This position is housed at WorkSource East in Goldsboro, NC. The primary purpose of this position is to develop and maintain internship sites for the 12 training areas at WorkSource East. It is responsible for coordinating internships for eligible students and ensuring students’ performance is evaluated by making site visits, documenting progress, and communicating with the rehabilitation team. This position also teaches Succeeding in the Workplace class, documents participation and provides one on one and group interviewing skills training, utilizing mock interviews to assess each student’s interviewing skills, and resume development. This person takes the lead role in developing and maintaining relationships with local businesses in the community and educates them about WorkSource East and it’s students; they plan and implement annual partner networking events.

  • Knowledge or experience helping others obtain employment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with the public.

Management Preferences
  • Experience working with people with disabilities or knowledge of disabling conditions.
  • Experience instructing or supervising others.
  • Understanding of the local job market.
  • General knowledge of employment practices and interviewing procedures.

Physical Requirements
  • Close visual acuity such as to use a computer.
  • Hear at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Talking to convey important details or instructions to others.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a human services or business field such as human resources, marketing, business administration, business management, healthcare management, or public administration from an appropriately accredited institution;

OR

Associate's degree in a human services or business field (identified above) from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related work experience;

OR

High school or General Educational Development (GED) and four years of directly related work experience;

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.
