We are excited to announce a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join AbbVie Finland as a


BUSINESS UNIT MANAGER RHEUMATOLOGY


to lead our Rheumatology business in Finland.


In this role you are responsible for leading, coordinating and facilitating the strategic development, tactical implementation and financial planning components of all Sales and Marketing related topics of the Brand Strategy. Additional responsibilities include managing customer and other commercial activities, including leading and coaching Sales Force to maximize brand sales and margin while placing the patient at the center of any efforts and operating within AbbVie business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations. In your role you report to Business Unit Director, Immunology and you will be located in Pasila, Helsinki.

As Business Unit Manager, you will:

  • Set future direction for existing and new products and business opportunities to seize maximum business results.
  • Hold accountability for allocated Brand P&L in terms of brand sales and financial planning (Financial Plan, Focus areas & Updates, Long Range Plan).
  • Lead the Brand Team around a brand vision and objectives that are shared by all members and ensure Brand Team Members contribute to the development of the Brand strategy through the Brand Planning process in line with strategy defined by Global Brand Team and ensure adequate involvement of multiple functions as relevant for the Brand.
    • Professionally manage and build cross functional cooperation between key stakeholders. Ensure timely and qualitative market intelligence information flow to Brand Teams and brand strategy/tactical communication from Brand Teams to In-Field Teams to optimize brand strategy and its execution.
    • Continuously encourage Brand Team members’ collaboration and foster team spirit.
    • Take accountability and responsibility for Brand Team activities and processes, build and manage commercial operations strategy and execution in order to achieve or exceed respective Plan.
  • Effectively manage and execute all marketing and sales related brand activities, such as development and implementation of commercial Brand strategy and tactical Brand activities execution and deliver sales performance to maximize or exceed brand sales and margin within expense budgets.
  • Leading, developing and coaching Sales Team performance, including setting sales targets and incentive schemes, managing Sales Force Management Systems and Key Performance Indicators to continuously improve sales performance. Ensure regular updates on Sales Team skills in terms of medical, technical and special in-field knowledge areas.
  • Develop and coach talent and build succession plans to ensure continuous high performance and engaged talent pipeline in Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Liaise with relevant Area and Global functions to integrate global and area strategy / tactics into the local brand planning strategy and execution and to facilitate the development and alignment of global and area brand vision and strategic objectives.
  • Role model AbbVie behaviors and enable the Brand Team matrix to work in order to achieve high quality strategy and execution capability in all allocated brands.


Qualifications


To succeed in this role, we expect you to have relevant experience with a proven track record of success, preferably in sales and marketing within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry. Strong experience in Immunology and understanding of science, market trends, and future opportunities will help you to be successful in this role.

You have the ability to develop a business vision, translate it into strategies and actionable, realistic execution actions. You can build fast knowledge and relationships with key stakeholders, and you have experience of successful leadership, management, and coaching of teams and individuals, either directly or indirectly.

Your excellent working knowledge of the healthcare environment and evolving landscape enables you to operate and lead effectively in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders. In addition to solid knowledge of finance principles and processes, you have excellent written and verbal communication skills and you are able to communicate effectively with many diverse customer audiences, therapeutic decision makers, and other influencers both in Finnish and in English.
