At Service Foods, we're looking for an experienced Team Lead to oversee the midnight operations of our Butchery Department in Wellington.
If you are committed to leading a collaborative, high-performing team and have knowledge and experience in warehouse management, such as Picking, packing, inventory, quality control, and meat handling, we would love to hear from you.
The opportunity:
This hands-on role will allow you to play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Butchery facility. You will lead a dedicated team and provide exceptional customer experiences while maintaining high standards of quality and food safety.
The job:
- Location: William Durant Drive, Upper Hutt
- Start: Immediate
- Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Hours: 12 am to 8 30 am
- Days: Monday to Friday and every second Saturday
The role:
You will play a key part in ensuring our department runs while smoothly fostering a positive and productive work environment. Some of the key responsibilities are:
- Assist in managing daily team operations.
- Ensure the highest standards of quality, and food safety in the department.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment.
- Oversee pick pack and dispatch functions and ensure smooth workflow.
- Work closely with the General Manager on roster management, task allocation, and resource planning.
- Monitor and inspect product quality before packaging.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe work area.
- Keep accurate inventory records and ensure appropriate storage practices.
- Train and develop the team to support their growth and skills development.
The ideal candidate:
We’re looking for someone with strong work ethics, experience in a leadership role, and a deep understanding of meat handling, quality control, and dispatch processes. If you thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and are passionate about fresh produce, this could be your perfect role!
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a leadership role in a Butchery or Warehouse environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Ability to work in a cold environment and lift heavy items as required.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures.
- A valid Forklift License is required.
- A commitment to health and safety and food safety standards.
- Technologically capable and able to adapt to new tools and systems.
- Ability to achieve operational efficiency and handle multiple tasks.
