The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to create and build a unique cafe dining experience. You’ll have the chance to design seasonal menus, craft memorable dishes, and play an integral role in shaping the overall establishment and vibe of the cafe. The position offers a great deal of creative freedom, allowing you to truly make the role your own.

Key Responsibilities:

• Menu Creation: Design and plan weekend menus, incorporating fresh, local, seasonal ingredients and catering to a variety of tastes. Curate a dining experience that reflects the spirit of the cafe and venue.
• Food Prep: Prepare ingredients efficiently and ensure the kitchen is stocked with everything needed to serve fresh, high-quality meals.
• Cooking & Serving: Cook and assemble meals according to the menu with attention to detail, ensuring consistency in flavour and presentation. Serve dishes in a timely manner while providing excellent customer service.
• Coffee Making: Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and other hot drinks, maintaining the highest standards of quality and equipment care.
• Work Days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (8am - 4pm). There is the option to increase work days to 5 days if desired.

About you

Ideally you will need to have:

• Excellent work ethic and reliability
• Attention to detail
• Demonstrate initiative and ability to work unsupervised
• Excellent organisational skills
• Experience in a role as a cook or chef
• Passion for delicious healthy food & sustainability
• Fun and friendly personality
• Barista experience (training can be provided)
• Sound knowledge of dietary requirements
• Must have license or reliable public transportation (no public transport available)

About the Ranch

The Ranch is an adventure park set on 200 acres in Boneo on the Mornington Peninsula, South of Melbourne. Our cafe and dining hall is located in our beautiful sandstone chapel and operates each weekend 9am - 3pm. Throughout the week The Ranch operates as a school camp offering adventure activities and meals.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check
• First Aid & CPR Certification (preferred but not required)
• Food Handler’s Certificate
