As the Cafe Manager, you will be the driving force behind the daily operations of Picnic Cafe. You will oversee all aspects of the business, from staff management and customer service to inventory and financial performance. This role is perfect for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering excellence.
What we are looking for
Leadership and Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage a dynamic and motivated team.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, growth, and efficiency.
- Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage while managing labor costs.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
Customer Service:
- Ensure every customer receives outstanding service and leaves with a positive impression of the cafe.
- Address and resolve customer feedback professionally and promptly.
Operations Management:
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service during peak hours.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the cafe.
- Manage inventory and stock levels to minimize waste and prevent shortages.
Financial Management:
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, including sales, costs, and profitability.
- Implement strategies to improve revenue, control costs, and meet business targets.
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) systems and oversee cash handling procedures.
Marketing and Business Development:
- Work with the owner to develop and execute marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain regulars.
- Organize and promote special events, seasonal menus, and community initiatives.
- Ensure the cafe maintains a strong presence on social media and other platforms.
RequirementsExperience and Skills:
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar managerial role, preferably in a cafe or hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting and reporting.
- Experience with inventory management and supplier relationships.
Personal Attributes:
- Passion for hospitality and creating exceptional customer experiences.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
Availability:
- Flexibility to work weekends, early mornings, and public holidays as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,660.88 – $73,330.01 per year
Work Authorisation:
- Australia (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
