Cake Decorator Job Description

Position Overview

As a Cake Decorator at Brecotea, you are responsible for creating beautifully decorated cakes and pastries that meet our quality and presentation standards. You will use your artistic skills and attention to detail to fulfill custom orders, maintain inventory, and ensure a clean and food-safe workspace. While your role focuses primarily on cake and dessert preparation and decoration, you are expected to uphold Brecotea’s uniform, customer service and conduct standards at all times.

Key ResponsibilitiesCake Design and Decoration:

• Decorate cakes, pastries, and other baked goods according to Brecotea’s standards and customer specifications.
• Execute custom orders with precision, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Utilize various tools and techniques to create intricate designs.

Preparation and Inventory Management:

• Prepare icing and other decorating materials as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels for decorating supplies and communicate restocking needs to management.
• Ensure proper storage of materials to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.

Food Safety and Cleanliness:

• Follow food safety protocols to maintain a clean and hygienic workspace.
• Sanitize tools, equipment, and workstations regularly.
• Complete cleaning checklists provided by management.
• Dispose of waste and manage storage areas in compliance with Brecotea’s standards.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the Cake Manager to prioritize orders and meet deadlines.
• Work with the store team and General Manager to ensure a clean, safe workspace.
• Communicate any challenges or delays in completing orders to the Cake Manager or management team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in cake decorating, including piping, and custom designs.
• Strong attention to detail and artistic ability.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet order deadlines.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
