- With a background in cell and molecular biology and if possible, biochemistry, you will work on a research and development project aiming at evaluating the in vitro and in vivo efficacy of cosmetic ingredients and prototype formulations. The performance will be assessed using mainly in-house reconstructed human epidermis tissues.
- After a comprehensive literature review, you will select the most appropriate culture and exposure conditions, and you will analyze specific protein expression by Western blotting, immunofluorescence and ELISA.
- In parallel, you will also assess the mildness of cosmetic ingredients and finished formulations.
- Finally, you will evaluate the bioavailability of cosmetic actives using the Franz cells-based diffusion technique.
- You are currently studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in Cellular and Molecular Biology.
- You have a good working knowledge of English.
- You have experience in working in a lab and safety is your priority.
- You have experience in cell culture, tissue engineering and biochemistry. Knowledge of skin biology will be a plus.
- You have a passion for applying innovative ideas and demonstrate curiosity and critical mindset in your activities.
- You have strong scientific method, statistics and project management skills.
- You are able to start as of January-March 2025, and for a period of 3 to 6 months (exact date and duration to be discussed based on the rules from the University).
