Position Overview:

The Candle Maker will play a key role in the production of our signature candles. This individual will be responsible for meticulously crafting candles using high-quality ingredients, ensuring that each product reflects the artistry and luxury associated with our brand. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of fragrance blending, and a commitment to craftsmanship and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Candle Production:
• Handcraft and pour luxury candles with precision, ensuring consistency in quality, fragrance strength, and appearance.
• Measure and mix wax, fragrance oils, and other materials according to proprietary formulations.
• Trim wicks, ensure proper wick placement, and perform any necessary adjustments during production.
• Quality Control:
• Monitor and maintain quality standards throughout the candle-making process, checking for imperfections in the finished product.
• Conduct burn tests to ensure performance standards (burn time, scent throw, etc.) are met.
• Troubleshoot and address any issues related to candle aesthetics or functionality.
• Inventory & Materials Management:
• Maintain an organized inventory of raw materials, including wax, fragrance oils, containers, and packaging materials.
• Ensure materials are properly stored and stocked to meet production needs.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with the design and development teams to create new products and seasonal collections.
• Communicate effectively with the production team to meet production deadlines and achieve the brand’s aesthetic and quality goals.
• Health & Safety:
• Follow all safety guidelines in handling materials, machinery, and tools.
• Ensure the workspace is clean, organized, and conducive to efficient production.
• Brand Representation:
• Uphold the brand’s commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices where applicable (e.g., using sustainable waxes, recyclable packaging, etc.).
• Provide exceptional craftsmanship that aligns with the luxury image and standards of the brand.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in candle making or related artisan crafts, ideally in a luxury or high-end production environment.
• Expertise in different types of waxes, fragrance blending, and wick types.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating beautiful, functional products.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet production deadlines.
• A keen understanding of scent profiles and the ability to translate them into an exquisite product.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain clean, efficient workspaces.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• A commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and sustainability.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with candle making on a commercial scale or in a luxury goods setting.
• Knowledge of current trends in home fragrance and luxury products.
• Familiarity with product photography or an eye for visual aesthetics.
• Passion for working with high-end materials and creating beautiful, innovative products.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
