We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Candy Maker to join our dynamic team and help us continue our tradition of excellence.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Candy Maker to join our small craft business and contribute to the creation of high-quality, handcrafted candies. As a Candy Maker, you will play a pivotal role in crafting delightful confections that bring joy to our customers and help maintain the reputation of our brand. Your ‘can-do’ attitude, attention to detail, and dedication to producing high-quality products will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goals.
Responsibilities:
1. Candy Production: Prepare, cook, and handcraft a variety of products using traditional techniques and innovative recipes, ensuring consistent quality and flavor profiles.
2. Production Efficiency: Working to product production schedules and gaining the skill necessary to optimize processes, maximizing your productivity while maintaining the artisanal quality of our candies.
3. Quality Control: Perform regular quality checks during the candy-making process to ensure that each batch meets our standards for taste, appearance, and texture.
4. Cleanliness and Safety: Adhere to strict sanitation and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe food production environment, preventing cross-contamination and ensuring the well-being of yourself and others.
5. Equipment Maintenance: Regularly clean, maintain production environment and equipment to weekly schedule, noting any equipment requiring maintenance to ensure proper functionality and longevity.
6. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, including other departments and management, to share ideas, solve challenges, and contribute to the overall success of the business.
Qualifications:
1. Passion for Candy Making: Demonstrated enthusiasm, passion and a ‘can-do’ attitude for creating handmade products with exceptional taste and quality.
2. Experience: Previous experience in food production or processing, candy making, confectionery, or a related culinary field is preferred.
3. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure consistency and quality in every batch of products.
4. Adherence to Guidelines: Follow established packaging guidelines, including portion sizes, packaging methods, and presentation standards, to maintain consistency in product quality and appearance.
5. Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills to balance multiple tasks and meet production deadlines.
6. Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with a small team and contribute positively to a collaborative work environment.
7. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle the demands of a dynamic small craft business.
8. Physical Stamina: Good physical condition due to working conditions within our labour-intensive processes. Primarily standing for long periods, lifting and upper body physical effort and physically demanding processes.
9. Reliability, Dependability & Dedication: As with any small business, chronic absenteeism, lates and behaviour related issues have a huge impact on our ability to meet production and shipping schedules. This is a pivotal role in our processes that requires passion and dedication.

Pay: $19.75-$21.50 per hour
