General Position Summary

The trim tech 1 MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1 YEAR of TRIMMING EXPERIENCE ON YOUR RESUME WITH ABILITY TO TRIM AT LEAST 2 LBS a DAY, and is responsible for processing cannabis flower and is able to trim a large volume per day to meet daily quota, while maintaining a high-quality standard of work. The Trim Technician is expected to maintain trichome integrity, refrain from touching the flowers, and avoid cutting into or ‘shaping’ the flowers. The Trim Tech will be reporting to the Trim Lead and Director of Processing for all daily tasks. The trim tech may also help with defoliating, harvesting, hanging, and bucking.

Responsibilities

  • Trimming flowers for processing with care - strictly following the SOP to maintain trichome integrity.
  • Follow all SOPs, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing duties
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Trim cannabis without touching or cutting into the flowers.
  • Switch between trimming techniques based on planned extraction method/plant cultivar.
  • Separate green waste from the desired flower.
  • Following strict biosecurity protocols, and maintaining the sanitation of tools and persons.
  • Scout for and report any pests or pathogens (powdery mildew, botrytis).
  • Required to learn how to trim flowers specific to unique cultivars, and how to identify a variety of pests/pathogens. This is a labor-intensive task that requires a sense of urgency while maintaining quality - expectations are 1.5-2lbs/day of finished flower processed depending on cultivar.
  • Any other task assigned by the Trim Lead and Director of Processing

Preferred Qualifications

  • MUST HAVE ONE YEAR OF TRIMMING EXPERIENCE ON YOUR RESUME
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to be coached and learn.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective time-management
  • For extended periods, must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking through the workday.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced mobility and perform repetitive tasks for up to 8 hours in length.
  • Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Be able to wear necessary uniform, gloves, hairnets(if required) and adhere to proper safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Functional Acumen - Consistently shows comprehensive knowledge, skills, and abilities in the functional area(s) for which they are responsible, and understands the fit with overall business goals

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently sitting or standing, up to 8 hours a day
  • Up to 8 hours of repetitive hand motions with extreme focus and concentration to detail(trimming)
  • Often stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 50 pounds
  • Often Twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl
  • Must be comfortable operating and troubleshooting large processing equipment.
  • Must be able to work on an environment with moderate to loud noise level

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to herbal aromas, dust, and/or airborne particles
  • The employee regularly works with and around loud machinery
  • The employee regularly works in high, precarious places

Compensation

Starting at $17 an hour plus bonus structure
