We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic canning line operator-cellar person to join our team and help us continue crafting exceptional beers that our customers love.

Overview
As part of the team at Origin Malting & Brewing you will be responsible for overseeing the packaging process from start to finish, cellaring duties, keg washing and learning about the brewing process. You will work closely with the brewing team to ensure consistency and quality control to ensure the best product always leaves our door.

Duties

  • Packaging Operations: Execute all aspects of the packaging process, including, canning and kegging finished beer, cleaning and maintaining all equipment and helping with inventory control.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain high standards of quality throughout all processes, ensuring consistency in taste and quality in every batch. Adherence to and help improve SOP’s.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain brewery equipment, including cleaning, sanitizing, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory of raw materials and supplies, ensuring that the brewery is stocked and ready for production.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of packaging activities, including seam checks, waste material and quality control results.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment in the brewery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, new brewing/packaging techniques, and equipment to continuously improve our brewing processes.
  • Learning: Working with the brewers to help understand the entire brewing process and grow your knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a brewing environment, preferably in a craft brewery.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of brewing processes, packaging equipment, and quality control practices.
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), stand for long periods, and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Passion for Brewing: A deep passion for craft beer and a commitment to producing high-quality products.

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

  • brewing beer: 2 years (preferred)

Language:

  • English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Class 5 Licence (preferred)
