The Three Waters Unit is responsible for the delivery of $2.8BN in capital works projects over the next 10 years. We are committed to continuous improvement and ensuring our operations are efficient, sustainable, and aligned with modern technological advancements. As we embark on transformative projects, we are seeking a Capital Programme and Panel Coordinator to join our team.

About the role | Ko te mahi nei

Join Christchurch City Council's Three Waters team as the Capital Programme and Panel Coordinator, supporting the successful delivery of capital programmes through comprehensive coordination and management of our Three Waters Hybrid Delivery Model (HDM) Professional Services and Physical Works Panels. This role is pivotal in ensuring continuous improvement, high-performance delivery, and robust contract and panel management.

You will do this by:

  • Programme Support: Assist the Planning and Delivery Manager in coordinating capital programmes and managing Forward Works Plans.
  • Panel Management: Serve as the primary contact for panel suppliers, handling performance assessments, contract control, and continuous improvement.
  • Process Development: Document and optimize business processes, and support procurement and data governance efforts.
  • Business Improvement: Identify process efficiencies and streamline workflows across the Three Waters unit.

Communication is key with strong ability to communicate with internal stakeholders at all levels of the business. As well as robust stakeholder management, you'll also have great relationship building skills and can provide analysis and recommendations to the highest levels of the Council. You will also bring with you:

  • At least 6 years' experience in project and relationship management/business analysis or similar role.
  • Desire to learn and grow in your role
  • High level of computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Visio
  • Demonstrable experience in developing processes and workflows
  • Analytical skills to assess performance metrics and develop reports to inform strategic decision-making.

Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week
Position - Permanent
Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $96,465 to $107,183 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
