Care And Support Worker - Kaiawhina, Papatoetoe

Mō te tūnga | About the Role

We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Full-time Support Worker to join our team, providing one-on-one care to Tangata (care recipients) with intellectual disabilities. You will play a vital role in their rehabilitation journey, helping them lead fulfilling and independent lives.


You’ll be supporting female Tangata, providing high levels of care tailored to individual needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with personal care, hygiene, and daily routines
  • Supporting with meal preparation and household cleaning
  • Administering medication as required
  • Transporting Tangata to appointments, gym sessions, and community outings
  • Supporting independence through daily living skills and social engagement

This role operates on a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends.


Shifts include:

  • Morning: 7am-3pm
  • Afternoon: 3pm-11pm / 1pm-9pm
  • Overnight: 11pm-7am (sleepovers)
  • 11am-7pm / 7am-7pm (on occasion)


Ko wai koe | About You

We’re looking for team members who are practical, empathetic, and enjoy connecting with people. Our Tangata live active lifestyles, so energy and adaptability are key.


To be successful, you’ll ideally bring:

  • A qualification in Health and Wellbeing, Community Support, or related field (preferred but not essential)
  • Confidence and strong communication skills
  • Experience with personal care (advantageous)
  • A positive, solution-focused attitude and genuine empathy
  • Good physical fitness and stamina

Requirements:

  • Full, clean class 1 driver's license with no restrictions is mandatory.
  • You must be residing in and legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
  • You will be required to undergo a Police Vetting check.
  • You will be required to complete a Health Check.
