Care Assistants provide basic, uncomplicated patient care and assist with unit/department operations under the supervision of registered nurses. Assignment of job responsibilities are as delegated by registered nurses assigned to supervise the care assistant and in accordance with this job description.

If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.
- Provides supportive patient care.
- Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficient and safe operations.
- Unit Secretary/clerical functions.
- Attends education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees.
- Shares responsibility for teaching and orientation of new personnel (within own skills)
- HS diploma or equivalent and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training In patient or customer facing roles

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or If not a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) one of the following criteria must be met:
- Enrolled in a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing education program and have successfully completed the fundamentals in nursing course.
- Within the past 3 years, was a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing licensure candidate who failed to pass the state licensure examination in any state.
- Completed an UAP (unlicensed assistive personnel) program in Missouri or another State (that meets current regulatory requirements) within the past 3 years.
- Completed a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing program outside the United States and is awaiting the licensure examination in this country.
- Worked as a nurse assistant, emergency medical technician (EMT), or surgical technician within the past 3 years.
- Some units may require bilingual skills.
- Required BLS certification Required Upon Hire
