Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Care Floater Caregiver to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide flexible, high-quality care to residents. Your primary goal is to ensure residents receive attentive support with their daily activities while maintaining their dignity and independence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, autism, or undergoing hospice care. As a Care Floater Caregiver, your versatility and proactive approach will help create a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment for all residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and comfort
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
  • Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, observations, and incident reports in accordance with facility policies
  • Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to foster emotional well-being and community connection

Qualifications

  • Availability: Have open flexibility to cover cases
  • Transportation: Must have reliable personal transportation
  • Bilingual: Proficiency in English and Spanish required
  • Technology: Basic technology skills (smartphone)
  • Experience: Previous experience in senior care preferred.
  • Prior experience in home care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs of distress or deterioration
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia (including Alzheimer’s), autism or hospice needs is advantageous
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs as needed
  • Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and personalized care

Additional Notes

  • Permanent case assignments are not permitted - the Care must remain flexible.
  • The Care Floater team member supports Lagom Care by working flexibly in the field. This role ensures continuity of care for clients by covering open cases when needed. This position reports directly to the Scheduling Coordinators.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
