Southill Hub, a busy community centre, is looking for a Part Time Caretaker, 20 Hours per week – Largely Day Time Hours, Monday to Friday

Skills

 Good communicator: Ability to engage with a variety of users and ensure the centre is a welcoming space for all service users

 Organised, flexible and able to work on own initiative

 Knowledge of the local community

 Skilled in “hands on” work

Duties and Responsibilities:

• General Maintenance, including some electrical/ plumbing and heating system duties and maintenance of equipment
• Upkeep of common areas, including painting, some cleaning and groundwork
• Opening and/ or closing of the centre
• Work with all users of the centre in relation to recycling and daily rubbish removal
• Provide support to staff of Southill Hub to ensure a safe space
• Deal with queries from users of the centre in a friendly way
• Participate in all training provided including Manual Handling and Health and Safety
• Driving community members to weekly lunch club
• Perform some front desk duties if required
• Participate in other duties as requested in support of the work of the Southill Hub

The successful applicant will need to have a full clean driver’s licence and Garda Vetting will be required for the role

As this is a Community Services Programme funded role, priority will be given to applicants from the following categories:

• Persons in receipt of disability allowance (DA) or other disability benefit
• Stabilised and recovering drug mis-users
• People employed from Tús, Gateway, Community Employment (CE) and Job Initiatives (JI)
• People with convictions who are in contact with the Probation Service

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term

Pay: €15.40 per hour
