Timber Production Carpenter

Location: Kamloops, BC

Compensation: $25.00 -$32.00. Full time, Monday to Friday

Kamloops Truss Ltd. is currently seeking a Timber Production Carpenter to join our Timber and Engineered Wood Products (EWP) production team at our facility in Kamloops, BC.

We are looking for motivated individuals with carpentry or woodworking experience who are interested in working with timber components in a modern production environment.

Position Overview

As a Timber Production Carpenter, you will play a key role in the fabrication and preparation of timber components used in engineered wood and mass timber construction projects.

Working as part of our production team, you will operate industrial woodworking equipment, interpret shop drawings, and assist in producing high-quality timber components while maintaining Kamloops Truss’ strong commitment to safety, precision, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate timber components according to production drawings and specifications.
  • Operate industrial woodworking equipment used in timber production, including the industrial planer and Hundegger SC4 saw.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings and cut lists.
  • Prepare timber components through sanding, planing, and finishing processes.
  • Inspect timber products to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production workspace.
  • Participate in daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA) and follow all company safety procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to support workflow and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Experience in carpentry, timber framing, woodworking, or wood products manufacturing.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is considered an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings or construction plans.
  • Experience operating industrial woodworking machinery is considered an asset.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively within a team environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and motivated to contribute to a growing team.
