Job Description

We are a busy wholesale plant nursery seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and motivated Cash n Carry Sales Assistant to join our team. This is a varied and hands-on role involving customer service, outdoor sales, and providing expert horticultural advice to customers.

Working Hours

Applicants must be available to work one of the following schedules:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm, or
• Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Providing excellent customer service to trade customers.
• Advising customers on plant selection, plant care, and suitable horticultural products.
• Sharing expert horticultural knowledge and recommendations to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
• Processing sales and handling cash/card transactions.
• Maintaining attractive and well-stocked sales areas.
• Loading and unloading plants and horticultural products as required.
• Assisting with stock management and merchandising.
• Keeping the nursery and sales areas clean, tidy, and organised.
• Supporting the wider team with day-to-day nursery operations.

Requirements

• A strong horticultural background is essential.
• Ability to confidently advise customers and provide expert guidance on plants, planting, maintenance, and general gardening queries.
• Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• A positive attitude and strong customer focus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
