Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing transactions accurately, and supporting store operations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and experience with POS systems. Bilingual abilities and supervising experience are a plus, as well as a passion for creating a positive shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales and returns
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with accuracy and integrity
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with questions and product inquiries
• Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities
• Conduct product demos when applicable to engage customers and increase sales
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
• Assist with inventory management including stock replenishment and inventory counts
• Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming
• Support store operations such as ringing up sales, bagging items, and handling customer complaints professionally
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries or follow-up calls

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering preferred; grocery store experience is a plus
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse customers
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse customer base
• Supervising experience is an advantage for candidates interested in leadership roles
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, product demos, upselling, and retail sales techniques is beneficial
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential for success in this role

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $16.25 per hour
