Your Opportunity
This is an exciting new role within our growing Category team, created to support our expanding business and commitment to category excellence. As Vitaco continues to grow, we are investing in new roles to enhance our capabilities and drive success. We are seeking a passionate, results-driven, and experienced Category Insights Lead to drive category management and shopper insights for Vitaco’s Food & Beverage portfolio, working under the guidance of the Category & Insights Manager NZ.
In this role, you will play a key part in building a competitive advantage, delivering insight-driven, innovative, and effective category development initiatives that align with our brands and retailer priorities. As Category Insights Lead – Food & Beverages, you will analyze scan/shopper data and shopper research to uncover valuable customer, brand, and shopper insights. These insights will shape the development of integrated category plans, strengthening our market position and driving growth.
To be successful in this role, the candidate should have:
- Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen and curiosity
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Experience effectively using market & shopper data and translating this into insights
- Proven experience in category, range, space and pricing analysis, Circana or Nielsen reporting and analysis (including scan/panel data)
- Strong planning and organisation skills
- Category management, trade marketing, brand management or sales analyst experience or experience within a data service provider or market research agency
- Demonstrable experience interacting with customers and retail partners, likely within a grocery or convenience environment
- Degree qualified in Business, Marketing or related field is preferred
Having the ability to collaborate positively within the Vitaco team and with other department members, and to work well within various cross functional teams will be critical to your success.
This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. We are looking for candidates who have high levels of drive & motivation and have a strong level of commercial and organisational awareness. You will also have solid baseline knowledge around the fast-moving food & beverages industry and drivers that impact upon shopper behaviour in this space that can help guide category strategy to improved commercial performance.
