<Responsibilities>
- Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rates, and temperature, ensuring accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support medication administration under supervision, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to maintain patient safety.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments in memory or behavioral health units.
- Provide compassionate support for patients with complex needs such as ICU or trauma center cases, including those requiring infection control protocols or infectious disease care.
- Assist in patient transfers and positioning using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer boards to prevent injury.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection prevention standards and ensuring proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
<Experience>
- Prior experience working as a CNA in hospital settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
- Experience in long-term care facilities including nursing homes, assisted living communities, or post-acute care environments is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities—including developmental disabilities—is essential.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification is required.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks enhances your ability to document patient information accurately.
- Experience providing specialized care such as hospice services, pediatric care (PICU), or behavioral health support will be considered an asset.
- Ability to perform medical-surgical tasks and assist with procedures like catheter care or phlebotomy is advantageous.
