Orthodontic Assistant – Join Our Dynamic Team!

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to become a valued member of our dynamic orthodontic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the efficient operation of our practice. Certification is required. This position demands a solid understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures by preparing and passing instruments and materials
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate patient records using dental software (e.g., Ortho2 Edge)
  • Manage patient flow to ensure an efficient and positive experience
  • Perform occasional administrative tasks, including answering phones and handling patient inquiries
  • Support orthodontic procedures with specialized knowledge and technique
  • Open and close the office, complete housekeeping tasks

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is required; experience in orthodontics and pediatrics is a strong asset
  • Sound knowledge of dental assisting practices and medical terminology
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members
  • HARP certification is required

Office Hours:

  • Monday: 10:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Thursday: Clinical only – Flexible hours (open occasionally, especially in summer)
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM (Closed Fridays in July and August)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
