Job Summary
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for seniors in need of support.

Your compassionate care will empower clients to maintain their independence while ensuring their safety and well-being. You’ll engage with clients through meaningful interactions, assist with daily living activities, and provide essential support in various settings such as homes, group homes, or assisted living facilities. Your dedication and skills will make a significant difference in the lives of those you serve.

What you’ll do

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status to ensure proper care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being.
  • Implement care plans tailored to individual needs and preferences while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Engage in light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
  • Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, or dementia.

Basic qualifications

  • Experience in home health care or caregiving roles is preferred.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques to ensure client safety.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility challenges.

Preferred qualifications

  • Previous experience working in private homes through a senior home care agency or previous work in nursing facilities is a plus.
  • Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring for changes in condition.
  • Understanding of memory care practices and approaches for individuals with autism or other disabilities.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
