Job Description

ROHI Engineering Ltd. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented summer student to join our engineering team as a Checker / Scaler. This role is responsible for accurately tracking materials delivered to the job site and supporting the road crew as directed by the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

· Record truck numbers and material weights (aggregate and asphalt)

· Perform tonnage checks throughout the day

· Collect haul cards at the end of each shift

· Assist with traffic control as required

· Follow all company safety standards and procedures

· Support the road crew as needed

Qualifications

· Completion of Grade 12 or post-secondary education

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers

· Ability to work independently for 10–12-hour shifts

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to follow detailed instructions

· Basic computer skills (tablet data entry)

· Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle required

· Previous road construction experience is an asset (not required)

· Willingness to travel and work in a field setting away from headquarters

· Must provide own safety footwear (PPE provided: vest and hard hat)

- Overtime paid after 8 hours/day and 44 hours/week
