My Bangkok Restaurant, a Thai restaurant located in Kirawee, NSW, is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team. About the Role:

As a Chef at My Bangkok Restaurant, you will play an important role in maintaining the quality, consistency, and presentation of our food. You will be responsible for food preparation and cooking, assisting with daily kitchen operations, supervising kitchen staff when required, and ensuring food safety, hygiene, and quality standards are maintained at all times. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has good cooking skills, attention to detail, works well under pressure, and has a genuine interest in Thai cuisine.

Main Tasks and Duties:

• Ensure dishes are prepared and presented according to company standards.
• Oversee timely and efficient service of all menu items.
• Design and develop new menu items with consideration of seasonality and customer preferences.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels and oversee stock storage procedures.
• Conduct regular stocktakes and manage ordering systems to minimise waste.
• Supervise kitchen staff, assign duties, and ensure high performance.
• Train and mentor junior team members.
• Monitor and maintain food and labour cost controls to ensure profitability.
• Enforce compliance with OH&S, food safety, and hygiene standards.
• Evaluate team performance and provide regular feedback and support.
• Participate in staff recruitment and development planning.
• Collaborate closely with restaurant management to achieve operational goals.

Skills & Requirements :

• Experience in Thai or Asian cuisine is highly regarded.
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience in Thai or Asian cuisine is highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques and plating styles.
• Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills.
• Passion for high-quality, seasonal, and authentic ingredients.
• Ability to lead a team and maintain a positive kitchen environment.
• Understanding of food cost and inventory management.
• Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and professionalism.

• A full-time, permanent position.
• Competitive salary: $80,000 – $82,000 per annum, based on 38 hours per week.
