Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie specializing in Indian cuisine to join our kitchen team at Namak, a new restaurant opening soon. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in traditional and modern Indian cooking, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present high-quality Indian dishes (tandoor, curry, regional specialties, etc.)
  • Manage a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., tandoor, curry section, starters)
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
  • Assist in menu development, including seasonal and innovative dishes
  • Maintain food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards (HACCP compliance)
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff (Commis Chefs)
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the assigned section

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in Indian cuisine
  • Strong knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and regional dishes
  • Experience with tandoor cooking is highly desirable
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Food safety and hygiene certification preferred
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in a high-end or opening restaurant environment
  • Creativity and passion for modern Indian cuisine
  • Knowledge of menu costing and portion control
  • Leadership and mentoring abilities
