The Enhanced Voluntary Agreement (EVA) Coordinator is responsible for engaging, assessing, and supporting individuals who may benefit from Enhanced Voluntary Agreements as an alternative to court‑ordered Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) under Kendra’s Law in New York State. This role focuses on voluntary engagement, community‑based support, and coordination of services to promote stability, safety, and adherence to treatment recommendations. This position will be working closely with the AOT Coordinator, the EVA Coordinator helps ensure continuity of care across both voluntary and court‑ordered pathways. The position requires strong communication, collaboration with hospitals and community providers, and consistent monitoring of individuals participating in EVAs.
Key Responsibilities
- EVA Program Implementation — Support the implementation and daily operation of the Enhanced Voluntary Agreement Program, ensuring alignment with county policies, procedures, and updates related to AOT/EVA processes.
- Eligibility & Engagement — Participate in outreach, engagement, and preliminary assessments to determine whether individuals may benefit from an EVA as an alternative to AOT.
- Voluntary Treatment Coordination — Work with individuals to develop voluntary treatment agreements, support adherence to recommended services, and monitor progress toward goals.
- Collaboration With AOT Coordinator — Work in tandem with the AOT Coordinator to ensure consistent communication, shared case planning, and coordinated service delivery across both programs.
- Court System Coordination- Work closely with the court system to assess individuals that may be eligible for diversion with an EVA, or AOT.
- Case Management Support — Provide community‑based case coordination, assist individuals in accessing services, and maintain regular contact to support engagement and stability.
- Critical Case Review Participation — Attend and contribute to Critical Case Review Team meetings to discuss individuals under consideration for AOT or EVA.
- Provider & Community Coordination — Maintain ongoing communication with care managers, ACT teams, hospitals, and community providers to ensure services are delivered as agreed.
- Hospital Collaboration — Support collaborative agreements with hospitals to improve discharge planning and identify individuals who may benefit from voluntary engagement.
- Crisis & Safety Coordination — Identify early warning signs of decompensation and coordinate with crisis services or law enforcement when appropriate.
- Documentation & Reporting — Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record system, including service contacts, progress updates, and program outcomes.
- Training & Community Education — Maintain required trainings, stay current on AOT/EVA regulations, and participate in community education efforts on the programs.
- Team Collaboration & Support — Participate in regular supervision and collaborative case reviews with the AOT Coordinator to ensure cohesive management of community‑based cases.
- Communication with DCS — Maintain regular, timely communication with the County Director of Community Services (DCS) to ensure alignment on program activities, emerging concerns, and coordination of services impacting individuals in the community.
- Other Duties as Assigned — Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support program operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
- Experience in behavioral health, case management, or community‑based services preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a strength‑based, empowering approach.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with computers and ability to learn multiple client databases and health information systems.
- Valid Driver’s License required; travel within the county is expected.
- This position is fully in person due to its community based requirements.
- Demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and commitment to high‑quality client services.
- This position offers a financial incentive bonus of $5,000. The amount will be dispersed with $2,500 given at the successful completion of the probationary period, and the other $2500 given at the completion of their first year.

Pay: $44,850.00 per year
