An exceptional leadership opportunity for an experienced executive from either the public or private sector. The Medical Centre, Peterborough—a leading multi-disciplinary health facility near downtown—is seeking a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to oversee operations supporting 21 family medicine practices, 18 specialist practices, and multiple clinical support services.

The CAO provides strategic leadership, ensures operational excellence, and supports a collaborative environment for approximately 40 physician practices. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this role combines strategic planning, financial oversight, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement to sustain and strengthen one of the region’s most respected healthcare facilities.

What You’ll Do:

· Lead all administrative and operational functions

· Oversee HR, finance, contracts, and facilities

· Support clinicians and staff through effective systems and governance

· Build strong partnerships with healthcare and community organizations

Who You Are:

· Accomplished leader with experience in public or private sector administration

· Skilled in finance, HR, and strategic planning

· Strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

· Dedicated to clinician support and quality care delivery

Qualifications:

· Post-secondary education in business, health administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred)

· Proven experience in a senior leadership or executive management role

· Strong financial management, budgeting, and operational oversight experience

· Knowledge of healthcare systems, Ontario labour laws, privacy, OHSA, and accessibility legislation

· Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and team-building skills

· Experience in a healthcare or regulated environment is an asset

· Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain professionalism in a multi-stakeholder environment
