Description:
Applications are now invited from suitably qualified and visionary Finance leaders seeking appointment to the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Housing Choices Australia (HCA).

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO leads and oversees all aspects of financial management and reporting. In doing so, the appointee will support operational effectiveness, governance excellence and long-term financial sustainability.

The core focus of this role is to provide strategic, expert and best-practice financial advice to the CEO, wider Executive, Board and relevant Committees. The CFO will enable and inform decision-making and assumes a critical role in leading Finance transformation, optimising ways of working and driving continuous improvement. The role holder is accountable for the integrity of HCA’s financial management framework inclusive of financial strategy, statutory and regulatory compliance, internal controls, capital and debt management and financial risk oversight.

What you’ll do

Provide visionary financial leadership, offering strategic guidance and direction to the CEO, Executive team and Board.
Develop and execute comprehensive financial and capital management strategies that support HCA’s strategic objectives, growth priorities and long-term financial sustainability.
Lead and oversee all aspects of financial management, including but not restricted to planning, accounting, budgeting, payroll, forecasting and analysis and auditing and compliance.
Lead and drive finance transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing financial capability, operational efficiency, effectiveness and transparency.
Provide executive oversight of Treasury strategy, including liquidity management, covenant compliance, lender engagement and refinancing.
Oversee the preparation of accurate high-quality financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
Present comprehensive financial performance reports, analysis and insights to key stakeholders, including the Board, Executive team, Audit, Assurance and Risk Committee, financial institutions and government.
Identify, assess and manage financial risks to safeguard the organisation’s financial stability and integrity.
Cultivate a culture of excellence within the finance team, providing coaching and leadership to foster high performance and accountability.

Skills and Experiences:
About you
Selection Attributes

Substantial and broad Executive level financial leadership experience
Successful track record in a comparable role leading a Finance function in the public, community, private housing or transferable sector
Depth of experience in strategic financial management including modelling, regulatory and statutory compliance and debt capacity analysis
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance/Accounting/Business or equivalent
CA/CPA credentialed
Exceptional financial acumen and analytical skills
Strong leadership and interpersonal capability
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
