We are looking for a Chief Technology Architect to join Stora Enso's global IT starting on as soon as possible.

You will be part of IT Strategy and Digital Portfolio team, committed to “Driving a strategy-led IT and digital vision that builds the foundation for future business acceleration". You will be reporting to the Head of IT Strategy and Digital Portfolio.

Stora Enso is currently transitioning towards a global IT proactively partnering up with our business colleagues to drive growth with every project and every line of code. We build on a digital core to deliver what our business and customers need most. Your role will be critical in this shift, as we embed AI, automation, and data-driven governance into the fabric of the organization.

Purpose
As the Chief Technology Architect, you shape, communicate, and advance the Stora Enso’s enterprise transformation vision, strategy, and roadmaps. By connecting people, processes, data, and technology, you enable IT and digital transformation, drive innovation, and ensure alignment with Stora Enso’s long-term strategic objectives. You establish architecture practices and guide decisions that support business outcomes, foster innovation, and strengthen digital foundations—defining the vision and standards that accelerate business transformation.

Your role is central to shaping Stora Enso’s IT & Digital foundation as you help create the principles, standards, and governance that ensure Stora Enso’s technology solutions are scalable, secure, and future-ready. You provide guidance that connects technology investments to business value, enabling Stora Enso to transform operations, adopt emerging technologies, and accelerate sustainable growth. You collaborate with people and stakeholders across Stora Enso, drive strategic alignment between IT and business, and prioritise enterprise value — empowering teams to build and deliver the next generation of IT & Digital capabilities.

Your responsibilities
  • Create and maintain IT & Digital architecture principles, standards, and best practices that align with Stora Enso’s business strategy and transformation goals.
  • Lead the definition and communication the current and target state of enterprise architecture and steer the development of capabilities to deliver on the business vision.
  • Drive enterprise-wide technology alignment by shaping how process, data, applications, and technology interconnect to enable business transformation and efficiency.
  • Govern and facilitate architecture reviews and ensure IT demands are strategically and architecturally aligned with Stora Enso’s business priorities and company standards.
  • Continuously assess emerging technologies, industry practices, and long-term trends to guide Stora Enso’s IT & Digital transformation direction and ensure sustainable competitiveness.
  • Identify and manage cross-portfolio interdependencies, risks, and opportunities to enhance consistency, efficiency, and innovation across Stora Enso.
  • Partner with business and IT leaders to ensure all architecture decisions balance immediate operational needs with Stora Enso’s long-term strategy.

What you bring
  • Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks and their role in enabling business transformation across process, technology, data and people.
  • Proven experience designing and guiding enterprise architecture strategies in alignment with corporate strategy and business objectives.
  • Strong understanding of IT governance, portfolio management, and architecture principles in complex, global environments.
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritise new business demands, identify emerging technologies, and translate them into strategic opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience shaping technology roadmaps and ensuring alignment between short-term initiatives and long-term IT & Digital vision.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and engage both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills, with a business-driven mindset and deep understanding of how IT creates value.
  • A curious, open and adaptable approach to change, and constantly seeking better ways to leverage technology for Stora Enso’s sustainable growth.
