What’s the Role and Service?

We are looking for an experienced C&F development worker to join our Early years & Family support service in Thurles, Co. Tipperary. Providing quality services to children and their families who experience disadvantage in partnership with families/ carers and other agencies in order to support children’s development.

What will my day to day look like?

  • Delivering a high-quality service to children attending the service
  • Designing, implementing and evaluating individual and group programmes for children and their families
  • Assessing the needs of children referred to the service and their families/carers and prepare individual intervention plans
  • To be vigilant for signs of physical, sexual and emotional abuse, neglect and any concerns regarding the welfare of children
  • liaise with other agencies in order to provide an integrated approach to the needs of children and families, and to attend and contribute to reviews and case conferences as required
  • Choose, organise, present and care for equipment and materials relevant to the project

What experience do I need?

  • A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience of working with vulnerable children and families
  • Experience of working within areas of disadvantage and working with a preventative and early intervention approach
  • Experience designing, implementing and evaluating individual and group programmes for children
  • Experienced in liaising with families and carers in relation to the welfare of their children

Do I need a qualification?

  • Recognised third level qualification[1] (min FETAC Level 6 on the NFQ) that is approved under the Early Years’ (Preschool) Regulations.
  • A full driving licence and access to the use of a suitably insured car is essential
