Role: Child Protection Partner Lead
Location: Murarrie, Brisbane
Employment Type: Full-time|6-month Fixed-term

Our Role:
As Child Protection Partner Lead, you will lead a national team of Child Protection Partners to provide strengths‑based, child‑centred case management and specialist support to children, families, and our centre teams. You will strengthen Goodstart’s responses to allegations or suspicions of child abuse, neglect or harm; support centres to keep children safe and connected to early learning; and champion Goodstart’s implementation of Child Safe Schemes and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
You’ll work closely with Centre Directors, Child Protection Advocates, the Safeguarding Children Team, Quality, People & Culture, Practice & Inclusion, State Performance Leads and State Managers, and external stakeholders including Statutory Child Protection Agencies, Reportable Conduct Schemes, and Family Support Services.
Your Impact:
Mentor, coach and informally supervise Child Protection Partners to build capability and confidence.
Providing guidance on complex child protection matters, including case management and incident response
Building capability across centre teams to prevent, identify and respond to risks using a child-centred approach
Supporting the consistent application of Child Safe frameworks, legislation and reporting obligations
Partnering with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and child protection agencies
Driving continuous improvement through analysis of incidents, trends and system-level insights
Championing a strong child safe culture across Goodstart

You’ll bring to the table:
Familiarity with Child Safe Schemes and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations
Significant experience managing child protection concerns and incidents, including case management and investigations
Relevant experience in Government and/or Non-Government settings with strong knowledge of child protection legislation across Australia states and territories
Strong analytical judgement to quickly assess safety and wellbeing risks and make sound decisions
Proven stakeholder capability- coaching, influencing, facilitation, communication, problem-solving and negotiation
Working knowledge of the Education and Care National Law and Regulations
Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Human Services/Social Welfare, Psychology or Behavioural Sciences (Desirable)
