What We Are Looking for in a Chef

As a chef, your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing food preparation tasks, including washing vegetables, cutting and filleting fish, and slicing lamb and beef for the preparation of various dishes, while working as part of a kitchen team of approximately three colleagues under the supervision of the head chef.
  • Preparing and cooking dishes while carrying out continuous quality and hygiene checks throughout the cooking process.
  • Finalizing and inspecting dishes before they are served, allowing the waiting staff to collect them and place them in heated serving stations.
  • Planning daily kitchen operations, ordering food products and other supplies from regular suppliers, and inspecting incoming deliveries.
  • Supervising kitchen assistants and providing guidance and instructions where necessary.
  • Cleaning your own workstation, kitchen equipment, and machinery before closing each day, and assisting any kitchen assistants with thoroughly cleaning the kitchen and storing delivered goods.
  • Being a reliable team player with a flexible attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Contributing to quality improvements, menu development and optimization, as well as creating recipes and preparation guidelines.
  • Preferred qualifications include an MBO Level 3 vocational diploma (or an equivalent qualification) with knowledge of basic cooking techniques.

What We Offer

  • A gross monthly salary between €2,600 and €3,100, based on a 38-hour working week, in accordance with the Dutch Hospitality Collective Labour Agreement (Horeca CAO).
  • 25 days of paid annual leave.
