Civil Estimator – Waterford
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Civil Estimator to join our growing team in Waterford. In this role, you will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates and competitive tender submissions for a variety of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. You will work closely with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure tenders are completed on time and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates.
- Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare tender documents, pricing schedules, and submission packages.
- Coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) throughout the tender process.
- Assess project risks and identify value engineering opportunities.
- Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings when required.
- Liaise with internal teams to develop competitive pricing strategies.
- Ensure tender deadlines are achieved while maintaining accuracy.
- Support project handovers following successful tender awards.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Civil Estimating, Quantity Surveying, or Civil Engineering.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering construction methods and costs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and contract documents.
- Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to strict deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
- Full driving licence is desirable.
