Civil Site Work Estimator (5 Yrs Minimum Exp)

ATTN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATORS:

COUGAR COMPANIES are seeking detail-oriented and experienced Civil Site Work (utilities infrastructure and site preparation) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, with the ability to analyze project specifications and prepare accurate cost estimates. These roles are crucial in ensuring that projects are completed within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Requirements:

The person must be able to review civil drawings and specifications for a wide range of public and commercial projects.

• An industry related college degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in estimating civil scope of work.
• Ability to read and understand plans in various stages of design from schematic and budgetary plans to detailed take-off and pricing of 100% plans for private, public and commercial projects.
• Experience in preparing complete estimates that include material, labor and equipment.
• Conducted site walk thru and progress visits.
• Bid 2 Win and/or AGTEK Software knowledge preferred
• Analyze and estimate project changes and assist the project management division in preparing change orders.
• Good work ethic, verbal and written communication skills is a must.
• Salary will be based on experience and will be discussed at the interview.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.
• Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best prices and terms.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, providing updates and adjustments as necessary.
• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for management review.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards throughout the estimating process.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software required.

Candidates local to Southwest Florida are desired. Relocation package is not available.
