Overview:
About the role:
This role is newly created role & will report directly to the Centralised Claims Team Manager. Its main objective is to support clients in preparing and presenting their business interruption claims, serving as a liaison between the customer and the insurer. The Claim Preparer will also provide expertise to the customer, ensuring they fully comprehend the technical aspects of the claim. By efficiently resolving complex claims within agreed timelines and service standards, this role contributes to the group's mission.
Ideally you will be available to start in January 2025 and would welcome applications from candidates residing in either Auckland, Wellington or Palmerston North.
How you'll make an impact
  • Demonstrate our values, our ‘DNA’ through your actions and decisions to help achieve our mission, to position our clients to financially survive any insurable event.
  • Proactively contact customers following notification of opportunity to offer your services and sell benefits of our claim preparation service
  • To gain full information from clients to understand the implications and inform decision making for the best course of action for them. Offer strategic guidance to clients and facilitate conflict resolution when necessary.
  • Coaching and guiding Claims Managers on BI Claims where they require assistance.
  • Efficiently manage casework, action all calls and process correspondence from multiple stakeholders in relation to more technically complex insurance claims, taking a proactive approach to ensure service standards are met.
  • Develop key relationships and build trust with internal and external stakeholders, influencing them to make the right decisions to ensure a positive outcome on behalf of the customer.
  • Provide a positive customer experience, ensuring they know what to expect, feel prepared and supported throughout the process, effectively managing their expectations and managing risk in relation to advice provided.
  • Ensure agreed service, compliance standards and processes are met, within a more technically complex environment.
Skills and Experience:
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting
  • Competent user of office software applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Ability to make sense of complex/technical information to inform decision making.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence others.
  • Ability to/experience of managing customer expectations.
  • Experience in negotiating on behalf of others.
  • Ability to/experience of managing high caseload, prioritising and multi-tasking as required.
