We’re now looking for a proactive and experienced Claims Consultant to join our Claims team based in Melbourne. This is a great opportunity for someone who combines technical insurance knowledge with empathy, sound judgment, and a proactive - approach to resolving complex claims, someone who takes ownership, communicates with clarity, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
About the Role
As a Claims Consultant, you’ll be responsible for the proactive management of claims, ensuring fair and timely outcomes while delivering outstanding service to our partners and clients. You’ll bring technical expertise, sound judgment, and a customer-first mindset to every interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Manage claims end-to-end, ensuring all legitimate claims are assessed and paid in line with policy conditions
Provide technical expertise across claims, including reviewing and seeking approval for claim declinatures
Collaborate with builders, engineers, assessors, brokers, and strata managers to meet service standards and KPIs
Escalate claims exceeding authority levels in line with internal guidelines
Ensure compliance with SCI procedures when appointing service providers
Identify opportunities to improve claims processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You’re a motivated insurance professional with a strong foundation in claims management. You enjoy solving problems, working with people, and making a real difference in moments that matter.
You bring:
Proven experience in the insurance industry (essential)
General Insurance Claims experience highly regarded
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
High attention to detail with sound decision-making ability
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to delivering exceptional customer outcomes
