Job Description: Support Worker for Amputee-Focused Care
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate NDIS Support Worker with specialised experience in supporting individuals living with limb loss or amputations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing person-centered support to our participants, promoting their independence, mobility, and quality of life. Initially 3 days per week with the ability to increase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing direct support to individuals living with limb loss or amputations, including assistance with prosthetics and mobility aids.
- Manual Handling trained and experienced.
- Implementing tailored support plans designed to enhance clients’ independence and overall well-being.
- Assisting with physical rehabilitation routines, daily living activities, and personal care.
- Promoting community engagement and supporting clients in social and recreational activities.
- Addressing emotional and psychological needs, helping clients adapt to their physical circumstances with confidence.
- Documenting client progress, interventions, and incidents in line with NDIS guidelines.
- Collaborating with healthcare providers, physiotherapists, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Educating families and support networks on best practices for supporting individuals with amputations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years of experience working as an NDIS Support Worker, preferably with a focus on supporting individuals with physical disabilities, including amputations.
- Understanding of prosthetic care, mobility challenges, and associated rehabilitation techniques.
- Proven ability to assist with adaptive daily living activities and community participation.
- Familiarity with NDIS documentation requirements, including note writing and reporting.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Allied Health Assistance, or a related field.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their support networks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and dedicated to person-centered care.
Job Types: Casual, Contract
Pay: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
